So where do you stand?

I was very excited today after work when I tried on two dresses I had put aside for myself while I was doing my shift – and they were a perfect fit! They are sample products by a little known brand (as far as I’m aware, anyway) – I’m picking them up tomorrow after my next shift, and they’re nice and cheap which made it all even better! Through my excitement though, a question formed in my mind that I wanted to ask you all.

When it comes to fashion, are you one who lashes out and buys a brand name, or do you buy something affordable that catches your eye?

Personally, in my (I’ll admit, limited) experience with brands, so often top dollar is paid and the product is sub-standard. When I was younger, all I wanted was the brands – of course it was an image thing – now that I’m a little older though, I’ve realised that as long as I feel comfortable in what I’m wearing, then I’ll look just as good and as happy as anyone else. I would rather buy clothing and accessories on the cheap – as long as it is something I do actually like: buying because something is cheap, is a waste if you aren’t actually going to use it.

I’ve been thinking lately that it’s crazy I buy at all – I make myself a lot of my own jewelry anyway, and I’m more than capable of sewing. I was just curious though, as to whether my readers like brands, or not?

I hope you’ve all had a good week xx

I go with what’s affordable, as long as it’s something I’m going to wear. Periodically I go through my closet and cull the pieces I never wear. (Invariably, I then wish I’d kept some stuff about six months later.)

    I, too, sew. Except I don’t. I’m sure you know what I mean. :D

Hehe, I know exactly what you mean :)
I’m not very good at cleaning out my wardrobe, as such, when I get around to cleaning out my wardrobe it’s so insanely full. I’ll go through it and find things I had forgotten I owned and loved, and then keep it because ‘I’ll remember it and see it’ when there is less in there. Hence wardrobe clean-outs are on my list of 200 goals! :D
      xx
