Just a Minute in February

Reading

Still reading Through the Looking Glass. To be honest, I haven’t done a great deal of reading lately, which is disappointing. I really need to make more time for it. Especially as that is one of my 200 goals for 10 years.

Listening

I have some friends who recommended a lot of music to me, and I certainly intend on listening to as much of it as I can. To start with, I have been listening to a lot more Opeth, and Dream Theater. I’ve also been listening to Béla Fleck and the Flecktones, Frank Zappa, Alice in Chains, Björk, Breaking Benjamin, Butterfly Boucher, Fleetwood Mac, and the usuals: Nightwish, Within Temptation, Apocalyptica, Evanescence, Lisa Mitchell, and Kate Miller-Heidke.

Wanting

Aside from some sleep, at the moment I would really appreciate more time to blog, and to read the blogs of others. Also to just work on other creative projects I have. I feel that at the moment, I just have no time whatsoever to be myself and have me time. Working full time sucks – but it’s good to be getting some money! I also want to be more thorough when I update my blog – I know that if items of mine were to be posted elsewhere, I would want sufficient credit. I’ve been thinking about it, and typing “click for source” really isn’t sufficient enough – these people deserve more credit and for their name to be given a fair mention. Please remind me of this, if I do it again.

Making

Actually, I’m going to be making a few sensory items for work soon. I work at a school for children who have autism, and one of the students in my class is very much so into the sensory work. I’ll be making her a sensory board to walk on, and a sensory alphabet so we can start working on that.

Outside of this, I’m knitting myself two scarves ready for winter. They are both fluffy, and one is brown, the other is pink.

Loving

My friends, good music, jasmine tea, chai tea, pretty blogs, and the cooler weather that is steadily starting to roll in. Hopefully there aren’t too many hot days left – they are the reason I don’t like Summer. At least it’s almost Autumn now.

Promising

To update more frequently with better content, that is credited properly. Also promising to make March awesome.

Drinking

Lots of vanilla chai tea, and lots of jasmine tea. I’m also drinking a lot of water, and too much coke. I need to cut the last one out, it isn’t helping weightloss at all!

Hope you have all had a fabulous February!

Reading Through the Looking Glass for the first time ever! Earlier in the month I finally finished Sixty Lights by Gail Jones, which was good. I also read Libba Bray’s A Great and Terrible Beauty – which I loved and can’t wait until I can get my hands on a copy of the next book in the series! I definitely recommend that book ♥

Listening to a lot of varied music at the moment. I have been listening to a lot of Lisa Mitchell and Kate Miller-Heidki though. The usuals as well, Nightwish, Within Temptation and Apocalyptica.

Wanting to get paid so badly! Then I’m thinking I may sponsor a blog, depending on how much money I can put aside. I’m also contemplating being brave and asking if anyone would like to sponsor my blog! Today I also decided that I’m going to abandon my 365 Project after all, and start a new one – one that doesn’t require ugly ol’ me in every single photo!

Making evil schemes for world domination! Are you afraid? Or contemplating asking me if you can join in?

Loving nostalgia and my friends – more than I can tell you ♥

Promising to never attempt to move my blog and url about AGAIN! I am here to stay – this url and wordpress – thank you very much! ^-^

Drinking lots of water and Jasmine tea (leaves, not bags! Win!), and for the first time ever, yesterday I tried some Darjeeling tea and I loved it!

Daydreaming in the sun
more photos at my photostream.

Reading Truly, I’ve not read this month… it’s been dreadful!

Listening my songs of the moment definitely seem to be “Nothing Else Matters” – Apocalyptica (covering Metallica), and “The Last Day on Earth” – Kate Miller-Heidke. Also completely addicted to Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance”.

Loving the fact that I’m going away this weekend for a while, and I’ll get to see the new year in with those who I love. I’m also loving the new dress I bought yesterday!

Promising to have the house clean and ready before Christmas Day – and then to have a fantastic 2010.

Drinking a lot of water now that the weather is warming up, and starting the day with a Jasmine Green tea, of course.

Reading Nothing – I’ve been too wrapped up in my NaNo novel (From the Ashes) to be reading. I have re-read a little of my novel in the last few days… on my to read list now though is The Twits ^-^

Listening to the music that has gotten me through NaNo – Apocalyptica’s “Faraway”, and their cover of Metallica’s “Nothing Else Matters”. Kate Miller-Heidke’s “Words”. Within Temptation’s “The Cross”, and “The Truth Beneath the Rose”. Nightwish’s “Creek Mary’s Blood”, and “The Islander”. The Used’s “The Bird and the Worm”. Ayumi Hamasaki’s “Ourselves”. My Chemical Romance’s “Helena”. Lisa Mitchell’s “Coin Laundry”. Iron and Wine’s “Flightless Bird, American Mouth”. Sixpence None The Richer’s “Kiss Me”. Just to name a few.

Wanting all sorts of things – money would be nice so that I could stop stressing about a few things in my current circumstances.

Making: I’m currently madly sewing a dress to wear to my youth group formal this weekend – I hope I can get it done in time! I’ve also started making Christmas presents.

Loving my friends, and the fact that I have finished NaNo for my fourth year in a row.

Promising to have this dress done by the weekend!

Drinking far too much Coke, and far too many vanilla milkshakes this week. Still lots jasmine tea as well though!

On a final note: yes, I am as shocked as you are – I made it just passed the 50k mark before coming here to make this post before we rolled into December. I had half an hour to spare before I finally crossed the line. I just checked the clock and there are 8 minutes left… I might try and belt out a few more words.

Just a minute in October

Monday, October 26th, 2009

Reading I finished Alice in Wonderland (Lewis Carroll), and have also read Wicked Lovely (Melissa Marr) – I adored both of them very much. I’m still slowly working my way through Mansfield Park (Jane Austen), and I’m almost finished Sixty Lights (Gail Jones). Next on my to read list is The Twits (Roald Dahl), to be followed by Blue Bloods (Melissa de la Cruz).

Listening I seem to be listening to a lot of Regina Spektor and After Forever at the moment. Particularly in love with Regina’s “Two Birds” and “Laughing With”, and After Forever’s “Forever” and “Only Everything”. Of course I’m also listening to a lot of my two favourites, Nightwish (particularly “Over the Hills and Far Away” and “The Islander”) and Within Temptation (particularly “Angels” and “All I Need”).

Wanting A sewing machine. Need the space for it first, but that’s easy enough to organise. Hopefully I’ll have made the space for it by the end of today… but yes. I really want a sewing machine.

Making Aside from a mess – at the moment I’m not making much. I am however working very hard on my big visual diary with all my art. I’ve also been making compilation cds for my new car.

Loving Finding old photos and notebooks of mine from when I was a kid, as I go through sorting and tidying. I thought my photos these days were bad! I can safely assure you that I have improved dramatically ^-^ The nostalgia is nice though. The notebooks also have a lot of notes and messages from all my friends when we were younger. It’s really cute and sweet actually.

Promising To not spam you all as much as I did yesterday, ever again! I’m also still working on that organisational thing of mine… it’s taking a while.

Drinking Water, water and more water… and even more jasmine green tea. Still though, lots of water. Summer is on our doorstep now and I want to be able to cool off at the beach with my friends every now and then.

Feel free to join in and do this post, comment me if you do so I can come read yours.
Also you don’t have to strictly stick with these headings.

Also, as always, new (these ones are old actually, but they’re not already up there) photos up at Flickr.

See right through you

Reading Just finished reading Dhiammara by Maggie Furey, already racing through Alice in Wonderland, and in the background, slowly enjoying Jane Austen’s Mansfield Park.

Listening Having just recently got a new laptop, I have had to start in my iTunes all over again and it’s a bit of a mess. For the moment mostly listening to the faves, Nightwish and Within Temptation. Slowly listening to a lot of my other music though (I would never say I have too much music, but it is a little ridiculous… and it will of course continue to grow!).

Cooking Going through my Grandmother’s old cookbooks looking at preparing different slices for morning teas when I get back to work. There are a few unusual ones in there that I might have to try.

Wanting For my wireless internet to work, and for things to settle again at home. Also, a new car.

Making Jewelry, a vegie patch, and a mess. :)

Loving The rain and the cherry blossoms. Also enjoying finding so many pretty blogs!

Promising To be more organised and less stressed.

Drinking Lots of tea, especially Jasmine Green at the moment. Although, I never knock back a good Chai.
